Visa Check / ATM Card
With an open checking account you are able to apply for our VISA Check/ATM card. With our VISA check/ATM card you can access your money in your checking and savings accounts 24 hours a day. There is not a charge for purchases or point-of-sale transactions. MPD Community Credit Union cards can also be used at no fee at participating no-charge network ATM’s.
(ATM owner may charge a fee for all transactions. The Credit Union will charge $3.00 for each ATM withdrawal that has a fee associated with it.)
To set up debit card transaction alerts go to CardGuardian.com.
The money on deposit at MPD Community Credit Union is insured by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) for up to $250,000 per member through the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund (NCUSIF). The NCUA is a federal agency that has oversight of all federally insured credit unions in the United States.
Money Market Accounts
If you are looking for a higher earning account but want to avoid long-term commitment then this is the account for you. Our money market accounts earn interest quarterly, and you do not have to worry about maturity dates. Money market accounts yield a higher return on your deposits then our traditional savings accounts.
Unlike some accounts you may see advertised (where your investment is not insured); your deposit at MPD Community Credit Union is federally insured to at least $250,000 by the National Credit Union Administration.
With only a $1,000.00 deposit, members can access the three to sixty month share certificates with above average yields that are amongst the highest around.
With uncertainty over the ability of Social Security to meet your needs, you will be forced to rely more on your own resources to support your retirement lifestyle. Individual Retirement Accounts (IRA’s) are great tax-favored ways to save for retirement.
With a traditional IRA, your earnings grown tax differed, so you won’t owe income taxes until you make withdrawals. And if you are eligible, your contributions may be tax deductible. The Credit Union offers both Traditional and Roth IRA in savings and certificate accounts.
